Jason’s Top Tips for Starting a New Side Hustle

Keep your overhead costs low

You don’t want to spend a ton of money only to find out that your new side hustle isn’t going to work out.  Give your idea a test run first with friends and family.  Much better to find out whether you have a viable idea or not on a small scale.

Side Hustles Take Real Hustle

Like Bobbi Rebell mentioned in Episode 057, side hustles take real hustle, so don’t be afraid to put in a little work.  It will definitely be worth your time in the end.  Jason mentioned a great quote by Thomas Edison in our conversation.

“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work”

Do What Others Won’t

You can make good money doing tasks that other people won’t or don’t want to do, like cleaning up dead fish.  It may be difficult or unpleasant work, but it could be one of your best side hustles.

Enjoy the Experience

It’s not all about the money.  Even though Jason and his friend Jeff ended up making pretty good money cleaning up dead fish, Jason found the memories that he made from this time even more valuable.  Take the time to enjoy your side hustle and make lasting memories.
